Affiliate Marketing
Affiliate marketing is a process whereby merchants sub-contract their search advertising to third party web sites, called affiliate marketing sites.
This form of advertising is very common with credit cards and many small business services, for example. Technology companies are major users of affiliate marketing, often to sell software, which can be purchased and downloaded immediately online.
The affiliate is typically compensated by a percentage of the price of the product sold, but affiliates can also be compensated on a cost-per-lead basis.
